I grew up in the wilderness outside the small Finnish village of Nurmijärvi. As the legendary industrial designer Dieter Rams once concluded, “Less, but better” is the epitome of good design. Nature has an ability to constantly simplify – leave behind something old to make room for something new and better. It has become my philosophy in business – and in life.

There has always been something inside of me that is thousands of years old — what I think is known as an old soul. This gives me an extra measure of sensitivity that I believe nurtures and propels my creativity.

Presently, I work as a creative director for forward-thinking global businesses, cultural institutions and non-profit organizations, speak to audiences around the world, and write about global trends and events as I observe them.

Overall, I believe in always being a student, the value of timeless design, the power of beauty – and especially true love.
